Overview

Job Title:       Shift Leader

Department: Operations
Reports To:   Senior Operations Manager

 

The Shift Leader coordinates drivers and cabs for Frias Transportation Management to ensure operational efficiency and productivity.  This position is responsible for but not limited to providing drivers with excellent service, assisting drivers with vehicle location, and organizing daily vehicle and driver assignments.

 

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and assist drivers
• Coordinate and prepare shifts for drivers based on daily schedule
• Prepare vehicles for upcoming shifts by locating and replacing cabs if

   necessary, ensuring the correct medallion is on the correct cab for that shift

• Ensure all shifts are filled daily and replace any drivers on vacation or who

   may have called out

• Print and issue accurate trip sheets for all drivers
• Issue verbal counseling to drivers for minor incidents or policy infractions
• Coach drivers and provide tools necessary for them to be more productive on

   their shifts
 

 

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Minimum High School Diploma, College degree preferred
• Must have valid Driver’s License
• Must have the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with

   work related persons, such as, but not limited to:

            *Law Enforcement Personnel
            *Regulatory Employees
            *Executive Management and Co-Workers 
            *Accident/Incident participants
            *Customers and Passengers
• Must maintain a neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance
• Must work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to maneuver up and down stairs repeatedly
• Must be comfortable working outside for periods of time
• Must take direction from management and work within a team concept
• Must follow all Company work rules, policies, and regulations and take

  corrective action as required

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time greater than two

   hours at a time

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
• Must have visual acuity to type, read reports, enter and produce data;

   reports; written statement, etc.

• Be able to squat for a short period of time, less than ten minutes
• Must be able to hear and speak clearly for radio and telephone

   communications
